In an action brought by Mr Levy Lawson, proprietor of the Daily Telegraph, againat Mr Labouchere, M.F. for Northampton, and proprietor of .Trui h, for libel, the jury were unable to agree and were discharged without returning a verdict. The Right Hop Earl Beaconsfleld is at the present time seriously indisposed. The exact nature of his illness has not transpired. Later. Earl Beaconßfield is suffering from a severe attack of gout and asthma. A bulletin issued to-day states that His Lordship passed a restless night. Athens, March 29. ' News has been received from Basutoland announcing that the Basutos have made a raid through the Boteka district;. 1 and have captured a large number of cattle and horses from the settlers. ■...-. • Telegrams naye come to hand to-day from Transvaal bringing the news that the British garrison at Potcbefstroom, which had been besieged by the Boers since .the outbreak of hostilities in Transvaal, yielded to the enemy on the. day on which the treaty of peace between' Sir Evelyn Wood, on behalf of the British, and the Boer leaders wai signed. Before the garrison surrendered, however, desperate fighting, lasting several hours, took place and the British suffered a loss of IS killed and fully 90 wounded. The loss of the Boers is not stated.
