Auckland, Tuesday. This morning a daughter of Mr Alfred Buckland was driving from the house when the horse bolted, and the carriage was overturned, and Miss Buckland received [a kick on the face from the horse, and is seriously injured. Her father left Auckland this morning by steamer for Kaiapara. The Government have approved of the regulations prepared by the. City School Committee for tbe employment of the police in enforcing the compulsory education clause. The Governor, replying to the city addresses, expressed his strong sense of the trouble taken and the exertions made on tbe' occasion of his reception, and conveys bis personal, acknowledgment both of those efforts and of tbe cordial response which they obtained from the inhabitants. Dunedin,' Tuesday. The Board of Governors of the High School have offered the first German naastership of the High School to Dr Belman of Christchurch at a salary of £300.
