Melbourne, Saturday. Baker, one of the competitors in the walking tournament now proceeding, has heen drugged by a spectator who gave him some beer. Baker is, however, able to continue the contest. Sunday. Tbe finish of the pedestrian tournament last night was most exciting. Baker did 307 miles, Swan 306, and Seymour 286. The Sorata on the voyage here from Adelaide, had to take shelter in Rivoli Bay as she was nearly sinking. She is now however safe. The following prizes at the Exhibition have been awarded to New Zealand exhibitors:—Vincent, of Christchurch, first for bulk ale, Ehrenfried, of Dunedin, second; also for bottled stout. Adelaide, Saturday. The Adelaide Racing Club has confirmed the disqualification of Mata. Obituary— Sir George Kingston, Speaker of the South Australian House of Assembly, at Galle.
