MAGISTRATES' COURT.

[Before James Sclanders and T. Mackay, Esqs., J.J.P.] Charles Turner was charged with allowin g two cows to wander at large on the Wakapuaka road, aud fined 5s each and costs. Me Gowan v. Thomas. Action to recover the sum of JEB 16s for board and lodgings. Mr P. B. Adams appeared for the plaintiff. The defendant did not appear. Judgment for plaintiff with costs £1 12s. Haselden (solicitor of Westport) v. R. C. Parker. In this case the plaintiff sued the defendant for £6 17s, amount of bill of costs. The defendant had his evidence taken to be forwarded to Westport, the ground of defence being that certain items charged for the work had not been done. Mr Bunny appeared for the defendant.
