In connection with the recent libel action, the judges require the proprietors of the Sydney Eveniny News to show cause why they should not be charged with contempt of court for their comment on Judge Windeyer's summing up. The 7eleyra[.k today animadverts on the judges' action. Adelaide, Tuesday. The Government are taking action against the Insurance Companies to recover £25,000 for losses by the wreck of the Hyderabad at Otaki, on the west coast of New Zealand, iv 1878. Melbourne, Tuesday. Arrived— Bangalore, with the Suez mail, which left London on July 16. Sailed — Rotomahana, for the Bluff. Wednesday. It is announced that the Duke of Manchester will visit New Zealand during his stay in the colonies. It is proposed to hold a race meeting here in Sir Hercules Robinson's honor when he visits Melbourne on his way to England. The proposal meets with general approval in sporting circles.
