Wellington, Tuesday night. A charge of assault preferred agaiost Mr Acton Adams, M. H. R., by Mrs Cecilia Stewart, was heard this afternoon. It appeared that the defendent is trustee for certain property at Blenheim in which the complainant is interested. Mrs Stewart called on the defendant with reference to the matter, and after a few words had passed, ehe became abusive, whereupon she was

ejected, no more force than was necessary being used. The case was dismissed. The City Council met this afternoon to hold an inquiry into the present administration of Hffnirs at the hospital. After considerable discussion it w«s agreed to postpone the taking of evidence uutil Thursday. Wednesday. An inquest was held on the body of Edward Malcolm Auderaon, who was found in the harbor yesterday, and a verdict was returned of « Found drowned." Blenheim, Wednesday. An hotel kepper named Hutchison dropped dead at Havelock to-day, it is supposed from heart disease. A telegram received by the Collector of Customs to day from White's Bay reports the Ocean Queen all right at Port Underwood. New PLYifOfTH, Wednesday. Eighteen native prisoners arrived in town last night from Camp, and embarked on board the Hinemoa this morning. One of tho prisoners was well known in New Plymouth an a regular trader in firewood until last Saturday. The Hinemoa sailed about 1 1 o'clock this morning for Wellington with the prisoners and two detachments of Armed Constabulary Over 1000 sheep ami 100 head of cattle were shipped from Waitara for Auckland yesterday.
