The schooner Spec, about the safety of ■which some anxiety was felt, has safely tnrned up at Havelock, after a passage of 16 days from Wellington. The Kennedy, while entering Greymouth yesterday, went ashore on the north spit, about 200 feet from the mouth of the river. It is expected that she will get off without sustaining much damage. Rapid progress has been made with the discharging of the Chaudiere's cargo, and should fine weather prevail, the middle of next week will see her with a clean hold. Her destination is not at present known, but it probably will be Timaru or some Southern port, to load with grain for Home. At all events it is pretty certain that she will not proceed to Wellington, as she did on her two previous voyages, as no cavgo is offering there at present foe London.
