TiarAttir, Monday. George Glccson,'the pedestrian, has been : sentenced to -seven days imprisonment for gambling with an " under and over '' table on the race course on Saturday. Three working men, named A. Gardner, and Eiands and Peter Keunedy, were found by the landlord of the Wasbdyko Hotel very drunk on his premises. As they bad called for but a few drinks his suspicious were aroused, and on a search being made he found in the stable two empty gin bottles, which they had evidently removed from the billiard room. They were sentenced to-day to one week's imprisonment. O'Connor commenced a twelve hours walking match against time on Saturday. He covered thirty miles in the first five and a half hours, but after completing forly-c-ight miles in nine hours aud forty-two minutes he had to throw up the sponge to an injured foot.
