Melboubne, Saturday. Arrived : Tararua from the Bluff. It is believed that the bottle found at Portland relating to the Knowsley Hall, supposed to be wrecked on the Crczets, is only a hoax. The barque Twee Variemdren has arrived from Java, She has serious fever on board, and has been placed in quarantine. I Stdnet, Monday. The Pacific Mail steamship Australia arrived here yesterday from Auckland. The barque Chandernagore has been seized for debt. Some of the mines at Newcastle are charging 14g and others 10s per ton for coal.
