Brisbane. Wednesday. It is announced that the Government of Queensland declines to join with New Zealand in protecting against the introduction of expirees from New Caledonia. Melbourne, Wednesday. A mass meeting of laborers takea place here to-night when it is expected that fully 20,000 will attend. In the case of the Provincial and Suburban Bank directors the evidence for the prosecution has ceased and the Crown Prosecutor has commenced the delivery of his address. Arrived — P. and O.
