St. Pbxbksbdko, February 18 On examination of the Winter Palace, it was discovered that a mine of dynamite and gun cotton had been laid therein. It was traced from the Inner Conrt to a fuel cellar. The escape of those in the Palace was most providential. London, February 18. The homeward San Francisco mails were delivered here to-day. At to day's vrool sale 9,645 bales were catalogued. Three per cent Consols remain unchanged at 98. The Five per cent New Zealand loan has advanced one per cent, and to-day is quoted at 104$. Adelaide wheat per 5961bs ex warehouse has further advanced one shilling, to-day's quotation being 595. Adelaide flour is unchanged. The market for Australian tallow is unchanged at the last quotations, viz., best beef 36b and.best mutton 38s €d per cwt.
