We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. f<o far as the committing of imposition againßt the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to. direct the public attention to the following facts : — The eucalyptus oil ia recorJed to be of value ns a medicament in cases of rheumatiarn of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the sbin. Any blißtering brought on by the application ot a medicament must increase inflammation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, etc.. the curative power oi our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased* The truth of pur assertion is founded upon the fact that .the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound VnpV u , r . extract consists of the evapora a n7hSg L tnlts b l«, %Th*tß twenty-four shillings for one pwSm-*SS°?
