THE CAMELIA.
- Such is the name of a wholesome-looking ketch of about 30 tons register which arrived here from Motupipi last night, where she has been recently built by Mr A. Wahlstrom for Mr G. Charles. She is intended to replace the schooner Sisters, which has been running between Nelson and Motupipi for a number of years. Her dimensions are as follows:— Length, on keel 45 feet, overall 50 feet; breadth, 14 feet; depth, 5 feet 6 inches. The Camelia is a very strong vessel, her lower planking being of black birch, and the top sides kauri, while the timbers are principally of rata and black birch. Her keel was laid about 1 1 months ago; since which time the builder has been plodding on with but little assistance, and as theresultof his labor a staunch vessel is now to be seen lying alongside Mr Lukins' wharf. The Camelia is : a credit both to builder and owner, and is a desirable acquisition to our coasting fleet. -
