Melbotikne Thursday. Parliament reassembled on Tuesday, and there waa a scene and continued excitement. In the Assembly last night strangers were again excluded. Arrived— Ringarooma, from New Zealand. King George's Sound, Thursday. Arrived— P. and 0. Company's steamship Assam, with the inward (December) Suez mails. Sydney, Thursday. A meeting is to be held at Newcastle tomorrow to consider means for alleviating the distress existing among the miners in the district. An attempt was made to-day by a mounted man to bail up some Chinese living near Gundagai. The matter was reported to the police, who are now in pursuit.
