The Rev Mr Katterns, who has just arrived at Nelson from England, has been offered the incumbency, and accepted it. A telegram was received on Nov. 12 by tbe churchwardens from the Bishop of Nelson, saying that Mr Katterns and his family would leave Nelson next Friday for Kaikoura. The member of the English Church will be very glad to have a clergyman of their own denomination in full orders amongst them once more. The vestry have guaranteed a year's stipend, by the end of which time it will be seen whether the support can be maintained. It is encouraging however, to find that many offers of help from persons of all denominations have been volunteered to the vestry without any canvass whatever having been made. Last Sunday was the first time that both Churches were opened for service at the same time. The attendance at the English Church was 48.
