MAGISTRATES' COURT.

[Before R. Pollock and J. R. Dqdson, Esqs , J.J-P.] Ernest Doraut, au operator in the Telegraph Office, was charged with stealing £io 16s Id, the property of Walter Chamberlain Peacock, also an operator in the same office. Prisoner was remanded for eight days, bail being allowed, himself in £200, and two sureties of £100 each. John Wilson was charged with wilful damage to property by breaking two squares of glass in the windows of the Bank of New Zealand. The offence was committed about six o'olock yesterday evening, and Constable White, who arrested the man, stated that he told him he did it on purpose to get locked up. He had been drinking heavily for some time. The prisoner was ordered to pay a fine of £5, and the amount of damage, £5, or to be imprisoned for two months.
