To thb Editor op the • Evening .Mail.'
Sib, — Could you inform me why we are again afflicted with such an intolerable stench arising from the gas ? Is it the cheap stove-gas with which we are supplied, or has there been any alteration made in the works ? Had this annoyance occurred during the recent absence of onr City Surveyor, it might have been said that it waa from the want of bis supervision ; but now, since he is again at his poat, where lies the fault ? Yours &c , CONSUMEK. Nelson, 30th April 1879.
