Adelaide, Friday. The Parliament has been prorogued to the 29th May. Flour, £11 5s to £11 10s. Hobarton, Friday. The Treasurer has introduced his financial statement, which shows an estimated deficit of £36,000, exclusive of £73,500 interest on railways. The deficit is to be covered by an increase in the property and income taxes of 2J per cent.
Sydney, Friday. latnarice, £20 to £22; Raven Twist tobacco, Is G|d ; sugar, £30 ss; candles, -Jd to Bd. 470 carpenters at the International Exhibition held out for an increase of threepence, namely, Is 6d au hour. Mr Parkes refused, and the strike is gradually collapsing. Melbourne, Friday. Arrived— Riugarooma, from New Zealand. Saturday. It is understood that the Cabinet have telegraphed to Mr Berry to obtain a definite proposal for the mail service from the Orient Company before returning.
