It is reported that Tawhiao is ill in consequence of exposure while cutting the road between Rawhia and Hikurangi for the coming meeting. The road is still unfinished, and much of the supplies are not yet brought over. Wellington, Saturday. Ihe Government have telegraphed to the Agent-General to send out 550 immigrants to Wellington before the usual immigration season. About 1500 more will be ordered to be sent at the same time to the other principal divisions of the colony. The New Zealand Loan and Mencantile Agency report under date London, 3rd March: — Wool competition is decreasing, and quotations are on an average a Jd to Id lower than at the opening.
