In the Queensland Parliament on Tuesday the Donglas Ministry were met by a direct vote of want of confidence. The debate is now proceeding, and the Opposition are confident of success. While firiDg a salute at ihe ceremony of opening Parliament, two gunners were killed by the explosion of a gun, and a third one was wounded. Both were accorded a public funeral. The Governor's speech stated that on the expiration of the Torres Straits mail service tenders would be invited for a fresh service, as the present rate of speed was considered inadequate to the requirements of the colony. A vast concourse of people attended the public funeral of the two gunners killed by the explosion wheu firing a salute, and much public sympathy was manifested.
