MAILS CLOSE. Wednesday, January 8. For Havelock— per Overland Carrier, at 5 p.m. For Wellington and South -per s.s. Kennedy . at 5 p.m. " ' Mails for the Chatham Islands, per schooner Omaha, close at Lyttelton on the llthinst. Late letters (for despatch by steamer) bearing one rate of postage extra, may be posted at the Port Post Office forty minutes after the honr of closing such mails at the Chief Office. For Havelock— Close every Wednesday at 5 p.m.; arrive every Tuesday. For Motueka, Motupipi, Waitapu, Takaka Collingwood, Bedstead Gully, &c. — per steamer or sailing vessel.
