Further efforts at mediation between the directors of the A.S.N, company and the seamen by of the eight hour conference, the Iron trade, and the Company's Marine Engineer, have failed, and the situation is unchanged. The Premier replied favourably to a deputation urging the necessity of action to restrict the influx of Chinese. Melbourne, Thursday. Arrived — Ringarooma on Wednesday. Sailed— Arawata with the Sue'z mail this morning at 7 o'clock.
