Wellington, Tuesday. In the House of Representatives, Mr Shee- i han, in replying to Mr Richardson, said the Government were taking steps to secure the land included in the hot springs of Rotomahana and Rotorua for the benefit of the public and visitors from other colonies and countries. In replying to Mr Thomson, Mr Stout said if the Counties Road Boards were endowed as they seemed to want there would be no land left to the Government to sell. He did not therefore intend introducing a Bill relating to the endowment of Counties and Road Boards, Mr Macandraw, in replying to Mr Wakefield, said the Government were taking steps to secure a uniform rate of freight on grain ou the whole Canterbury lines. Debtors Bill, Mr Barton called for a division on an j amendment of his, and lost it by 40 against I Beven. The Honse rose at 5.30 p.m. Mr Fox will move on Wednesday next for a return of all particulars regarding the distribution of Government advertisements
