LOCAL COMMITTEES.

Waimsa West, A meeting of the householders was held on Thursday night, Mr W. Bell in the chair. Twelve names were proposed, and the following were elected :— Messrs H. Challis, C. Schwass, J. Sath'erley, J. Hammond, J. Claridge, W. Bell, and G. Morgan. At a subsequent meeting bf the Committee, Mr H. Cballis was appointed Chairman. Richhond. There was a fair gathering of householders at tbe School-house at the hour appointed. The Rev. W. Rouse was voted to the chair. Mr J. G. Harkness acted as Secretary, and Mr W. Steer as scrutineer. The Chairmau read the advertisement summoning the meeting, and also the extract from the Act for the information of those present, and for the guidance of the business of the meeting, after which the following nominations were made :— Messrs Barnicoat, Talbot, Sheat, Harkness 3en., Harkness jun., C. Sayweli, J. Thompson, Rev. W. Rouse, and J. M. Croucher. The following was the result of tbe ballot: Talbot 26, Rev. W. Rouse 26, Barnicoat 22, Harkness jun. 18, Sayweli 17, Sheat 12, Harkness sen. 12. Tbe following were not elected ; — Croucher 7, Thompson 6. Tha proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks to the Chairman. Suburban Noeth. The following were elected members of the Committee:— Messrs Alborough, T. Dodson jun., G. frost, C. H. Martin, D. Slater, W. Wastney, and W. Wells. ErGHTT-BIGHT VALLEY. At the meeting held on Thursday night the following were elected: — Messrs T. Cole, W. Wells, J. Wadsworth, W. Cole, T. Hunt, and G. Parker.
