CORRESPONDENCE.

SLAUGHTER HOUSES. To the Editor op the 'Evening Mail.' Sir— l observe by a report of the proceedings of last night's City Council, that Mr H. Warren is applying for leave to erect a slaughter-house, and that the application was referred to the Public Works Committee. I hope this Committee will not think me impertinent if I remind them that "The Slaughter-houses Act, 1877," is now law, and that by the 6th Section of that Act it is made unlawful to erect any abattoir or slaughter-house within half a mile from the outer boundary of auy borough. I am, &c, ; JSanitas.
