MAGISTRATES' COURT.

[Before R. Pollock, and J. R. Dodson, Esqs., J.J.P.] Cofterell (estate of) v. E L Shaw.— Action to recover £18 Iss for professional attendance, &c. Defendant did not appear. Mr Pitt, who appeared for the plaintiff, said that he had received a letter from Mr Shaw dated the 27 th of May stating that the money had been sent, but it had not yet arrived. He had also received a telegram stating that it would be here to-day, but as it had not come he must ask for a judgment. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs £2 4s. Isaacs v. Shaw. — Claim for 15s. Plaintiff did not appear. Mr Pitt who appeared for the plaintiff made a statement similar to that in the previous case. Judgment for amount claimed, and £1 13s costs. Holler v. Jwld. — Claim for £19 4s, balance due for 890 lbs cherries. Judgment for amount claimed to be paid in monthly instalments of £5, and costs £1 Is. Hill § Week* v. Moor. — Action to recover £5 15s 6d. This was the balance of the account between the parties on the dissolu • tion of their partnership, and a certain sum claimed as interest. The evidence of the plaintiffs was taken here some time ago, and that of the defendant in Wellington. No further evidence was taken to-day, aud Mr Acton Adams having addressed the Bench for the defendant, and Mr Pitt for the plaintiffs, judgment was given under the equity and good conscience clause for £4 Os fid, being the aoiouut claimed less the interest demanded, and costs £3 7s,
