WRECK OF THE ANN GAMBLES.
Dunedin, Monday. Mr G. W. Elliott has received the following telegram :— "Barque Anne Gambles, from London to Nelson via Bluff, is a total wreck at Te Wais Point (east head of Bluff); crew reported safe; forward part of ship out of water; survey will be held, and it is recommended vessel be sold." Mr Elliott has left for the Bluff Jwith Captain Russell, the representative of the Insurance Companies. The cargo is reported to be a valuable [one, and is said to be well insured. There is one policy in the Victoria office for £800. Bluff, Friday (via Port Chalmers.) The barque Anne Gambles, from London, chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Company, attempted to enter the harbor last night, and drove ashore on Tewais Point. She is a total wreck.
