„, . . k Paris, May 1. lne Jiixnibition was opened to-day by the President with great eclat. The opening ceremonial- was very imposing. Representatives were present from all nation^ and several British colonies.. Tike attendance was very great, although it Was raining. The interior presented & grand spectacle. The Exhibition surpasses that of 1866. The Colonial courts are well filled, and excite much interest. Victoria is best represented, exhibiting great progress and multiplicity oE resources. The show of wools is Very good. The Prince of Wales presented the Colo nial Commissioners to M'Mahon. Paris is crowded with visitors from all parts of the world, and the streets are crowded. London, May 3. England assents to the Austrian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria refuses the Russian advances and acts separately. Mr Cross, at Preston, re-affirmed that England's policy was to her interest and honor. The working men mobbed the Burnley Unionists' Committee, and assailed the Blackburn Committee, for refusing relief during the strike to non-Unionists. Two thousand men on the North British Railway have struck against the increase of working hours from fifty-one to fifty-four per week.
