To the Editor of the 'Evening Mail.' _ Sir,—l was much pleased with the rendering of the " Stabat Mater " last evening, the only defect being, in my opinion, the want of an orchestra. Is it not possible in a place like Nelson to find the material for it ? As grandfather of all stringed instruments, let me suggest to the Harmonic Society to try and form one. • I am, &c, Contra Basso.
