Wheat has improved iv price, and is selling at 5s 7£d. New Zealand milling oats ss.
T'lere has been very heavy rain in South Australia, and great floods have occurred.
In North Tasmania, fresh discoveries of tin have been made. They are of a valuable character, and are expected to rival those of Mount Bishoff.
The Old Colonists' Association wish to give up their hoaie, as the expenses are more than equal to revenue.
The Australian Cricketers proceed to England by the San Francisco mail steamer. They were very successful in their final matches.
Mr Francis again contests West Melbourne with Sir Brien O'Loughlen. A hard contest is expected.
Mr French, the ex- Attorney-General, has become Colonial Land Tax Commissioner.
The Cable Conference is fixed for April 25th. Queensland is applying to take part, believing the result to be a foregone conclusion in favor of duplicating the present route. The present interruptions on the South Australian land line, direct attention to the necessity of a duplicate to the. present land line.
Eight of the School Inspectors have been re-iustated. Mr Hadon, the late InspectorGeneral, will probably resume duty as Secretary of the Education Department-
