The Nelson Evening Mail. FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 1878.
We would remind our readers that with the close of the present month the time allowed by law for the registration of claims to be placed on the electoral roll will cease. The importance of every man, who has the necessary qualification, taking care that he shall be in a position to exercise his privilege is on the present occasion enhanced by the ' fact that in all probability there will be a
dissolution this year, and that at the general | election the questions to be submitted to the public for their verdict thereon will be of more than usual interest. Therefore, we would recommend all those who have not yet registered to do so without delay. I Matters of this kind are too often put oft until a more convenient season, but, as they are very easily forgotten, it very frequently occurs that that season never arrives, and the opportunity is allowed to pass by. The only way iu whichto guard against such an error is by registering at once. In reply to numerous enquiries we may state that the maximum amount of punishment allowed by law for such an offence as that of which F. B. Joseph is accused is seven years' penal servitude and fifty lashes. . The Artillery and Naval Brigade will fire for the District prizes to-morrow at 6 a.m. and 2-30 p.m. at the Maitai Range. A hint to the ladies. Nervous excitement produces nervous weakness. Female complaints, which are almost always accompanied by excessive nervousness, briug on debility. Bilious derangement and inactivity of the bowels also usually exist in connection with nervous debility. Nervousness, indigestion and constipation are promptly relieved by the pleasant expedient of swallowing three or four times a day a wineglassful of Udolpho Wolfe's Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps. Advt.
