[Reoter's Telegrams per Press Agenct.] Sydney, Tuesday. The Intercolonial rowing match was won by Victoria by on*length. Melbourne, Wednesday. The Council met to-day, and received petitions praying that they will maintain their privileges. They then adjourned for a week. In the Assembly Mr Berry gave'notice of a resolution for n reform of the constitution. He proposes to replace the Council by an Upper House. Mr Lyell made a personal explanation regarding his efforts to effect a compromise, and read a memo which promised simultaneous action in both Houses for sending up a proper Appropriation Bill.
