__. _, To thb Editor of the 'Evening. Mail.' Sir,— l see by this morning's Colonist that Mr Hounsell replaced Mr Tutty in the Council, therefore he could not have been on the Committee, but as he distinctly remembered the passing of this work in Committee, according to your truthful report (which the Council vouch as correct) it has made Mr Hounsell appear the cause of the error; thus, believing him to be honest and truthful, and myself writing from memorjk I £§f^llNl^ - '^ ' R. Gray.
