CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor op the 'Evening Mail/
Sir.— Mr Gibbs in his letter to you dated 6th instant, states that the words " except with reference to the vote Mr Gibba had given on the non-confidence motion subsequent to Sir George Grey assuming office," were not part of the confidence motion by the proposer. The proposer did make use of the words in h?s motion, which was duly seconded by Mr Packard Sen. An addition taat the Chairman suggested, namely, that the confidence of the constituency was felt in Mr Gibbs' future proceedings in the House on their behalf , was unanimously rejected Before Mr Gibbs wrote to you his letter of the 6th instant, he should, I think, have spoken to your corresponded, who told him (Mr Gibbs) that a report of the meeting was being sent to you. No written notes of the proceedings were taken by anyone at the meeting except by m , , Youb Correspondent. Takaka, 14th February 1877.
