The result of the polling to-day for the borough loan of £25,000 was in favor of raising the loan, the majority being 131. Wellington, Wednesday. It is said that the measures for the readjustment of representation and exteusion of franchise promised by the Ministry are in course of preparation, and that the basis will be a six months' residence in the electoral district before registration, and that the general roll will be periodically revised and corrected iv connection with the ratepayers roll. It is thought the present electoral districts will be altered and re-arranged in accordance with the population, but not so as to increase fche present number of members in the House of Representatives. Sir George Grey and Mr Sheehan wiil afterward visit Canterbury and Otago.
