[Pfiß RINGAROOMA.] Melbourne, Jan. 9. The salmon ova have all been deposited in the various rivers with a yery small percentage of loss. Mr Firth, of Auckland, has a letter in to-day's A rgui, from which it appears that Sir Samuel Wilson is not entitled to s,o much credit in the matter as the public are disposed to give. There have been some large sales of stock during the last few days. At otic of Robertson's sales at Colac; the large sum of £25,000 was realised. The highest .price paid for a colonial bred bull was 245 J guineas. The entries fur the Australian Cup have closed with 27, and' for the Newmarket Handicap 44.
The revenue returns just published show an increase of £18,000 on last quarter.
