The Port Darwin Hoe is interrupted north of Alise Springs. At a meeting of the Regatta Committee held last eveniug the first prize in the second class sailing race was awarded to the Transit, and the second prize to the Nellie Cross. All outstanding accounts were ordered to be paid, and as there was a small sum over, it was decided to place it to the credit of the Regatta Fund of 1878. At the Magistrates' Court this morning, before C. Hunter Brown acd A. S. Collins, J.J.P., William Taylor was called upon the information of Antony Hurst to answer a charge of assault. The defendant and his witnesses were in attendance with Mr Acton Adams retained for the defence, but plaintiff failed to put in an appearance, and the case was dismissed with costs against complainant of £1 Is.— Pritchard v. J. J. Taylor, of Richmond. An action brought to recover £7 10s 7d for drugs supplied. Defendant did not appear, and judgment was given for plaintiff for amount claimed with costs.— Loasby v. Williams. A claim to recover £1 4s for a pair at boots made for defendant in 1874. Plaintiff swore to the making and delivery of a pair of boots to one Morley for defendant. Defendant on oath stated that at the time named he. was working for Morley down at the Sound and obtained from his employer a pair of boots. The boots were stopped out of plaintiff's wages when a settlement was made between the parties. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed with coats. M'Gee v. Win. Williams,, acclaim for £3 for board and lodging. Defendant did not ap pear, and judgment wns. given, frr plaintiff for amount claimed with. coats -^M'Gee v. H.
