HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Wellington, Friday. The House met at 2-30 this afternoon. la reply to a question from Sir Raberfc Douglas, Me Larnach said the telegram published about the Governor refusing the use of the Government House and grounds, Auckland, for a fete in aid of the Indian Famine Relief Fund, was not accurate. He would lay the papers on the table. The privilege debate was resumed. Mr Travers, in a few words, moved the appointmeufc of a Committee, consisting of Messrs Fitzherbert, Stafford, Stout, Travers, Moorhouse, Rolleston, Gisborne, Wakefield, Rees, Reader Wood, Harper, Ballance, Johnstona O'Rorke, and Montgomery, be appointed to search for precedents and report to the House on Monday. The motion was agreed to without discussion; and after a short discussion oa the adjournment, the House rose at 3*15. adjourning until Monday.
