CRICKET MATCH.
A match between a scratch team from the town, and an eleven from H.M.S. Sappbo, was played in Victory Square this afternoon. A very fair wicket had been secured, thanks to the exertions of two or three of the townsmen who devoted yesterday afternoon to watering and rolling the ground. The Nelson men ware the first to take the bat, and the following was the state of the score at two o'clock when an adjournment was made to lunch: — Nelson. H. Halliday b Eoope 21 Firth, not out 68 Coles, c Hill b Eoope , 2 Cornwall, l.b.w. bßoope 9 Field, b Roope 0 Wix.bßcope 3 C. Halliday, not out 11
