PARLIAMENTARY.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. _, Tr Wellington, Friday. The House met at 2-30 this afternoon. Replying to questions Ministers s id: (1.) The Government intend to enforce the penalties for delay in completing the Balclutha line, unless reason to the contrary is shown. (2.) Did not i itend to appoint a Minister of Mines this session. (.3) Would cause enquiry to be made regarding the committal of a woman in Christcharch for 24 hours for plucking flowers in the Domain. The following new Billg were introduced: — Waikouaiti Harbor Endowment Bill (Mr M'Lean), Waikoaaiti Athenaeum Land Bill (Mr M'Lean), Oamaru Harbor Board Bill (Mr Shrim3ki) } Port Chalmers Waterworks Bill (Mr Macandrew), Grey and Butler Colliery Reserves Bill (Mr Macandrew). The Manawatu Land Order Bill was read the second tme, after soma discussion. The Public Health Act Amendment Bill, Public Reserves Sales Bill, Special Contracts Confirmation Bill, and Dunadin Gaolstreet Contraction Bill were read tha second time. Saturday. On the House resuming at 7-30, the Ponsonby Highway Bill was read tha third time and passed. In Committee on the Manawatu Land Orders Bill the compensation was reduced from 200 to 100 per cent. The Bill was than read the third time and passed. The Slaughter Houses Bill was considered in Committee, and several minor amendments were made, and the Bill passed. The Wakapuaka Telegraph Site Bill, Law Society's Act Amendment Bill, Wellington Loans Consolidation Bill, and Auckland Pro* vincial Council Library Bill were passed. The Auckland City Endowments Reserve Bill was read the second time, and the House adjourned at 940 p.m.
