[Pek Rotorua.] Melbourne, Sept. 9. The new Synagogue, which cost £7000, has been opened. A settler named M'Grafch committed suicide by jumpiug from a train. The Tanjore took £120,000 worth of gold. The Victorian Commissioners have applied for 2000 feet extra space at the Paris Exhibition. Two hundred hogsheads of brandy [sold afc 8s 9d. There is an improved demand for sugars. Brisbane, Sept. 9. The Government propose a vote of £2000 for a representative at the Paris Exhibition. At a meeting of the creditors of Messrs Clark and Hodgson, the pliabilities were stated at £90,000, and the failure was attributed to shipments of produce to England. The estate will pass through the Bankruptcy Court.
