Thomson stating that on account of a recent bereavement he would be unable to devote as much time as be would wish to the Brigade duties, and therefore desired to resign. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Thomson, assuring him of the de *p sympathy felt with him in hia heavy loss, and acknowledging the valuable services he had hitherto rendered. At the half-yearly meeting of the Nelson branch of the Court Robin Hood held yesterday, the auditors' report and statement of the accounts were read, and disclosed a flourishing state of affairs. The amount paid during the half-year from the widows' and orphans' and funeral fund amounted to £170. On account of the unfavorable state of the weather the dramatic entertainment which was to have been given for the benefit of tho Hospital Convalescent Fund last night was postponed until Monday. The Secretary of fche Naval Brigade is calling for tenders for the supply of a summer uniform to the company. Tenders are to be left at the shop of Mr D. Burn before the 31st instant. There will be no parade of thß company to-morrow afternoon. Life is a burthen to the unhappy victim of chronic dyspepsia aud constipation. Not only are the two above-named diseases generally co-existent, but their manifestations resemble those of dangerous organic diseases with which the suffered imagines himself to be afflicted. Thus mental torture is added to bodily suffering. Banish both evils with Udolpho Wolfe's Sohisdam Aromatic Schnapps.— Advt.
