Mr : Pitt, for defendant, said this was not a sufficient, ground for adjournment, as the plaintiff must-be supposed to be able to ensure:his fife's attendance. The difference of. opinion that appeared to exist between them as tothe wife's duty of obedience to the liusband in all probability would not be cleared up at the next sitting of the Court, whehthe)_e was as little ' likelihood of her attending as how. An adjournment could only. .be obtained by the payment 6f costs, 'and as the amount claimed was so small he would not aslf for costs if plaintiff abandoned the claim altogether. Plaintiff consented, and the case was withdrawn. Several small, undefended debt cases were heard, and the Court adjourned."
