Happy Valleys The district constable reported that the "site fixed upon for the house was a convenient one, but ' he did not think a new public house necessary, as those already in existence in the district were not paying. The consideration of the application waa adjourned until the June meeting. We hare been requested to acknowledge the receipt of the following sums for the Motueka Relief _Fund:— "P. G. B," £-1; OddFellows' Hall Sunday Schoolßiwaka, collected by J, M'Lean, 16s; "J. 5.," £1; A. O'Brien, £2; A Friend, £2 2s; Loyal Motueka Lodge of Odd-Fellows and Court - Perseverance,- £7- Isa. The- Secretary. has., received lists from the followingjgentlemen: —Mr Condell (Stoke), £6 Os 6d; Mr A. Harley (Stoke) £1 15 a; Judge Broad, £2 Is; Mr Chattock (Lower Wakefleld), £5 13s sd.
