HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Wellington, Tuesday. Upon tbe House resuming, it was announced tbat the Legislative Council agreed with the report of the conference ou the Waste Lands Administration Hill. The Premier then said there had been a great deal of discussion on the Sartories .Downsand Other Claims Bill; and on account of the late period of the session, he moved the adjournment of the debate for a week. This was agreed to. The House then adjourned till 5.30. On resuming, there was nothing done but the reading by the Clerk of a notice that the members were wanted in the Legislative Council Chamber; and upon going there, the Clerk read the commission proi oguing Parliament until the 16th of January. This closed the proceedings. The following is an aualysis of the business done during the session:—Bills brought from. Council, awaiting the Royal assent—this year, 182; last year, 144, Bills of all sorts— this year. 305; last year, 186. There were 85 days of meeting this year, and 59 last year. Divisions—34s this year, 94 last year, Hours of sitting before midnight—this year, 695 hours 40 minutes; after midnight, 15 hours 6 minutes 30 seconds; daily average, 10 hours 28 minutes. Last year—before midnight, 351 hours 45 minutes; after midnight, 15 hours 5 minutes 30 second; daily average, 7 hours 5 minutes. There were 345 reports from select committees, 187 papers laid upon the table, and 250 questions a-ked of Ministers.
