Wellington, Saturday. The Albion sails for Nelson at midnight. Passengers— Messrs Aplin, M'Guire, Leslie, Clemore, Smith, 78 immigrants for Jackson's Bay, and about 40 diggers for the Kumara.

Dunedin, Friday. Wheat continues scarce and firm from 5s to Gs; according to sample; oats, freely saleable, 2s to '2a 2d for inferior to ordinary, and up to 2s 3d for good heavy feed; milling, and seed samples may be quoted at 2s 4d; barley in very limited demand, at 4s to 4s 6d for good to prime.malting, inferior almost unsaleable and quotations nominal.

The Provincial Executive are awaiting a reply from the Government to the last telegram before determining on the next step.

New Plymouth, Saturday. At Mr Courtney's cattle sale 63 head of provincial cattle were yarded. Cows with calves at foot fetched from £8 to £10; two-year-olds, £5 7s Gd; yearlings, £2 7s 6d to £3 12s 6d. Eighty-seven head of Auckland cattle were also sold. Bulls realised £21 ; cows, £13 to £14 7s 6d; heifers, £5 7s 6d to £12 10s; inferior cattle, from £4 2s 6d to £7 15s; fat sheep, from 15s to 15s 3d.

Lyttelton, Saturday. A lady named Mrs Jenkins residing here, met with a fearful death through the falling of a kerosene lamp in her house last night. She was dreadfully burned, and lingered in agony until seven this morning, when she died.
