A movement is being made in New South Wales and Victoria to prohibit the landing of convicts from New Caledonia in Australia. Some 800 of these felons are to be speedily released from penal servitude, and as the French Government do not seem to care where the convicts are landed, whether in Australia or New Zealand, it is but proper that steps should be taken to prevent the Briiiab colonies from being overrun by tbe offscouriog of France. A Mrs Colville, who arrived in Brisbane, Queensland, about four monthß ago, as an immigrant, gave birth to lour children shortly after landing, namely, three boys and a daughter. The citizens of Brisbane contributed £120 towards the support of the quadruple strangers. Mrs Colville is only twenty years of age, aad is a native of Cornwall.
