Wellington, Friday. The House met at 230 p.m. Business mainly unimportant. Amendments are to be made in the Public Health Bill. Replying to Mr Rees regarding the liability oftoe Government for indemnifying personinjured by the carelessness of railway officials, Sir J. Yogel said thu Gove- nment were quite prepared to recognise their liabilities in that direction; but, while providing for the luture, they would not make the measure retrospactive. A good deal of discussion took place on the proposed alterations ia Standiog Orders, and all were carried excepting the one referring to the exclusion of strangers from the galleries. The order was ameudcd and carried in the Mowing form:—" That atraogers may at any time be ordered to withdraw on mptiou without notice, and that no amsndinent or debate ah-tll be allowed on the question. In his owa discretion the Speaker can at any time order strangers to withdraw." " Saturday. = ___ that province condemning it as very bad indeed, and stating that tha public sustained great loss 1 and inconvenience in consequence. The management of Otago railways was spoken of in high terms. Messrs Lusk, R ea, aui Macforlaie took the opportunity of telling the House tliat the railway management, in Auck'ani was as bad as it could bo, aod that people would not piironise it. They attribute i the blame more" to the regulations: than to the intfficieacy of the railway officers. Mr Reynolds declining: to sit on the Public Accounts Cammittee Mr J.
