LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Wellington, Friday. r. The Friendly Societies Bill was read a second time. Dr Pollen said the Government intended to follow the English legislation on the mater, and that all tho suggestions of the Friendly Societies would receive tha fullest consideration, p. Mr Hart gave notice that, on the third reading of the bill, he would move its recommittal, for the purpose of considering a clause prohibiting, in societies hereafter to be constituted, the practice of disposing of the privileges of realising shares by competition.
