Stdnbt, March 4, The Pacific mail steamer Australian arrived at Melbourne to-day, having been 42 days out from London The Suez mail arrived at Adelaide this morning, but the steamer and passengers are detnined in quarantine, owing t _■ one case of smallpox. One of the Emu Flab murderers has been arrested. In the Assembly yesterday night the Minister of Lands called another member a blackguard, and the latter accused the Minister of being beastly drunk in the House. Melbourne, March 4. The St. Ledger stakes were won by Bichmond, beat-ng Moid of All Work and Bullion. It was a splendid finish. The English news is unimportant. The passengers per mail steamer for New Zealand are :— Lieut -Col. Moule, Messrs W. K Heeves and O'Kell. The barque Clara Tinne, from New Zealand, whf*at laden, grounded and capsized in the Humb^r when on the way to Poole, lhe captain, wife and two children, and an apprentice were drowned.
